Meet Rocco and His Family
Every parent’s dream is for their child to be happy. They want to see
them smile in a way that lights up their face. Not long ago, for Chelsea
and Kevin that dream felt far away. Their son, Rocco, faced challenges
that made everyday moments difficult. But today, when Rocco rolls
through the doors of Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children
(WPSBC), he lights up the halls—and the hearts—of everyone around
him. That’s because Rocco doesn’t just show up for school, he shows
up with a sense of joy that is simply contagious.

At 18 months, Rocco was diagnosed with
SYNGAP1, a rare genetic condition that
