Charissa Wendland
Instructional Supervisor of Primary Program, Speech-Language Pathologist
Charissa Wendland was
immediately inspired when
first visiting WPSBC during
a clinical rotation as a Speech
Language Pathologist. After this visit
during her graduate studies, Charissa
knew she wanted to be a part of
WPSBC’s collaborative environment.
Although she had to finish out her
rotation commitments, she knew she
wanted to return to our school and
help inspire our students as much as
they inspired her. In 2022 she did just
that, joining our team as a Speech
Language Pathology Coordinator
within our Primary Program.

Charissa was drawn to WPSBC’s
multidisciplinary approach. She
appreciates being part of a larger
team of experts that combine
their skills in order to help students
reach their fullest potential.
“I really love collaborating
with professionals in
other disciplines, and
having open and in-depth
discussions about the best
ways we can help our
students thrive.”
Charissa is also a member of
our VisAbilities Clinic evaluation
team—one of her favorite parts of
her role at WPSBC. “I love working
with families, collaborating with
other team members, and helping
parents feel supported and
understood. It’s such a blessing to
be part of their journey and provide
them with the tools they need.”
Charissa’s passion for ensuring
that every student gets the best
individualized care is a true
reflection of WPSBC’s mission.
